Some people show no symptoms whatsoever while others usually face pain and stiffness in the neck. People suffering from cervical pain may also experience weakness and numbness in arms, legs, hands and feet, trouble while walking, loss of bowel or bladder control, etc. This happens only when the spinal cord or nerve roots become pinched. Some people complain pain in fingers as well. The pain intensifies while standing, sitting, sneezing, coughing, etc. Also, some experience muscle weakness which makes it difficult for people to lift their arms, pain in back of the head, tingling sensation and numbness in legs, loss of balance, etc.

People should consult the best doctor who is highly qualified and experienced for the cervical pain treatment in order to get rid of it. The symptoms demand quick medical attention in which an X-ray and an MRI scan is done after which the treatment is given to the patients. It is necessary for the patients to avail it to lead a normal life and prevent it from developing a permanent damage. Physical therapy is recommended to strengthen the muscles and bones so that the muscles of neck and shoulder can become stronger. Medications are also given like muscle relaxants, steroid injections, painkillers, etc. The doctor also recommends exercises and application of hot compress or cold pack on the neck. If the ability to move arms is affected by the pain, the surgery is done. However, surgery is done in very rare cases as it is not required.
